Get the Real Deal on Brownstone Brooklyn Real Estate at MyBrooklynReport.com

Since our humble beginnings back in July 2009, I and a small team have been hard at work bringing you coverage of New York City’s other real estate world: Brooklyn.

We made our bones by delving into stories about 1576 Fulton Street and places like it, while raising attention to the dark side of foreclosure in Bedford Stuyvesant and other neighborhoods.

While we’ve dialed back our political commentary on some of our favorite elected officials, we did so with the intent of bringing you an on the ground view of the borough’s neighborhoods, its people and the houses they call home.

Now we’re ready to push the envelope and take this to a whole other level.

Does the Internet need another real estate blog?

The short answer is YES, and for this reason;

Brooklyn’s real estate isn’t being covered enough by blogs claiming to be about Brooklyn Real Estate.

Don’t get me wrong, Brownstoner is great at bringing you news about specific neighborhoods and Curbed does a fantastic take on the celebrity aspect of Brooklyn’s real estate scene.  But both blogs tend to focus on neighborhoods in Brooklyn concentrated in the North-Western end of the borough.

Urban Digs and True Gotham are published by real estate brokers who exclusively cover the Manhattan real estate scene with brief mentions of Brooklyn.

Other web sites, like the The Real Deal, do present stories on Brooklyn’s growing real estate scene.  However, it has been accused of making news out of press releases while their magazine by the same title tends to focus primarily on Manhattan.

So what will MBR do that others aren’t?

Here’s just a preview of things to come:

Blocks That Rock – discovering those blocks in neighborhoods where the best experience is being lived by it’s homeowners and why you should take a closer look at any home that comes to market for sale.

Think You Know Brooklyn? – where we’ll share with you stories about the famous and infamous that called Brooklyn home, and more importantly, where they called home.

Trending Real Estate Topics – highlighting the issues that are developing trends in old Brooklyn neighborhoods that affect the quality of life experienced in the neighborhoods we cover.

Property Politics – Yeah, we’ve turned down the noise a bit, but we’re not prepared to be quiet about the back room politics that have always changed neighborhoods without REAL input from community stakeholders.

Home Buying – We’re not interested in bringing you the same canned content about how to shop for a house.  Our aim is to empower shoppers in the search and buying process with information that will aid them in BUYING RIGHT the first time.

The Apartment – discussing the issues that Landlords and Tenants face and the experiences each have during vacancies and while searching for a place to rent.

They Paid How Much?! – it’s here that we’ll be taking a closer look at Brownstoner’s House of The Day to see how buyer and seller made out if and when a sale is arranged (and who got the best out of the deal).

And don’t forget our 7 part series on Foreclosure Short Sales in Brooklyn Real Estate, where we explore the process homeowners and home buyers encounter in selling/buying a property in foreclosure.

You’ll also begin to see regular installments on Sales and Rental trends in and around the neighborhoods we cover, in addition to a special series we’ll be publishing on commercial real estate in local neighborhoods.

Your source for Brooklyn real estate news

It’s our goal, but it won’t end there.  Our future content offerings will focus on Public School Education and Local Business Development.

We know that you can love that brownstone townhouse but will hate the neighborhood you live in if it doesn’t provide the essentials that make an incredible community.

This is the information I’ve always wanted, especially when my wife and I were shopping for our first home.

And I’m betting you’d want this information to know what’s happening where you live.

So if you like what we’re cooking and want to continue getting great information, then Subscribe to My Brooklyn Report so you’ll get each update direct in your email inbox.
